The Best Shades for Sports
As sunglasses have become more and more of a fashion statement their original purpose and intent has quickly become hidden beneath designer labels. What is currently being peddled by top name designers is probably not what most people will want to be wearing when they are getting active or hitting the slopes. Fear not, there are some top designer brands that offer great sport related sunglasses.
Oakley is a high end peddler of Active sports sunglasses. Known for their customizable frames and impact resistant construction the brand is popular with those involved in contact sports. What's nice about Oakley is that they offer different lenses for different lighting conditions and sports making the pair truly customizable.
Nike also offers a wide range of sunglasses for those living an active lifestyle. Nike sunglasses are extremely popular with runners as the polarized lenses and UV protection offers a great deal more than just a pair of sunglasses, but rather it offers a great safety device. The frames range from metal memory construction to hard plastic with impact resistance.
My personal favorite is The North Face sunglasses. A great pair of winter sport sunglasses are not easy to find and more difficult to find at reasonable pricing. The North Face is a company that has long had a share in the winter sport market with jackets, boots and other cold weather gear but their sunglasses are perfect for fresh powder and carving a trail down a black diamond. The construction is pretty rigid and a tight fit makes things stay put. The lenses are optimized for the glare that one associates with the sun and snow so everything looks and feels great the entire ride down.
Replicas of all these brands are also avaliable on the market and with a great construction and the same features they often are a great bargain. Check out Sunglass Tips for more information about great sports glasses
