I Wear My Sunglasses At Night

"Sunglasses at Night" by Corey Hart is one of the quintessential hit songs from the 1980s.  When people think of that decade of music, that song often pops into mind.  While it's an interesting song to say the least, how realistic is its message?  Do you people really wear sunglasses at night?  Would you?

When most people think of sunglasses, they think of the warmth and bright sun of a beach.  This is the most appropriate time to wear sunglasses because the can protect your eyes from the sun's harmful rays.  After all, that is the primary purpose of sunglasses.  The sun emits harmful UV radiation that can actually do permanent damage to your eyes.  Rather than go without them and risk damage, most people elect to wear sunglasses.  However, this isn't the only reason why people wear them.

Sunglasses are also a great accessory.  They can complete any outfit or add a bit of style and flair to your overall look.  People go to great lengths to buy designer sunglasses so that they can show off their style to those around them.  Some people even buy several pairs so that they have some that can go with each outfit that they wear.  As you can see, safety is only a small part of the reason that people wear sunglasses.  It also has a lot to do with style.

So, why should we be stylish for only part of the day?  Yes, we can wearing them during the sunny times of the day, but what happens when it gets dark?  If Corey Hart can wear sunglasses at night, why can't we?  The truth is, we can.  Many people keep their shades on even after the sun goes down.  Some see this as a rebellious attitude, like you're trying to be tough.  On the contrary, anyone can get away with this fashion idea.

There are some ground rules to wearing sunglasses at night, though.  For starters, you should avoid situations where you may get hurt.  Driving at night with sunglasses on is a bad move.  You won't be able to see nearly as well and you may cause an accident.  You should also avoid darker places like alleyways because of your diminished sight.  If you're in a well lit area, though, sunglasses are more than welcome.  Since this accessory is such a great way to improve your look, there are few reasons not to wear them throughout the entire day.
